Personal Trainer
Sarah is a popular and knowledgeable personal trainer, fitness instructor, wellness coach and mentor. With more than 30 years industry experience, Sarah has taught at numerous fitness centres and fitness chains around the territory. She now coaches exclusively from her private studio in Harrison. She is a safe and technical professional, holding relevant industry qualifications, registration and insurance and is Senior First Aid trained. Sarah brings a unique blend of lived experience and professional qualifications to her role.
Sarah started her fitness industry career at 18 years of age with a background in hypertrophy training, strength training, aerobics, martial arts and boxing and went on to become a nationally accredited boxing coach. Over the years, she has worked as a rehabilitation case manager, taught within the Certificate III and IV in Fitness and completed university-level education in Health Promotion and Occupational Health and Safety and Ergonomics.
As Sarah has aged, her own health has shifted. After contracting a virus in 2023, she developed several autoimmune and chronic conditions, allergies, hormonal issues and became insulin resistant. She lives with the same challenges many of her clients face: navigating chronic illness, medication effects, menopause, joint issues and energy limitations. Sarah doesn’t just coach people, she understands what it feels like to manage a changing body.
Her private studio in Harrison has been purposely adapted to reassure clients who are immunocompromised or immunosuppressed. The space is equipped with a medical-grade air purifier, a germicidal light and a commercial disinfectant fogging machine.
Safety, hygiene and clinical alignment are non-negotiable at Change Coaching Australia. Sarah works closely with referring doctors, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, soft tissue therapists and podiatrists and takes medical clearance seriously. Sarah adapts personal training sessions for injuries, chronic conditions and fatigue in accordance with allied health professionals’ advice.
Sarah’s focus is on safe, evidence-informed resistance training to protect muscle mass, strength and bone density, particularly during menopause and when using GLP-1 medications. Her studio offers a clean, inclusive and compassionate space where clients feel respected and supported, no matter what stage of life or health they are in.
To work with Sarah, clients’ medical conditions must be medically cleared and considered “stable and managed”, with any restrictions or guidance provided by the appropriate member of the client’s medical team.
Sarah has designed various programs including a cross-training system utilising boxing techniques for individuals of varying fitness levels. Having taught various styles of fitness programs and having applied various exercise formats, Sarah believes her style of training delivers.
Sarah has the skills to cater for individual needs in a group setting, from those with a high level of cardiovascular fitness to those who are quite sedentary, as well as the novice to the experienced athlete. In addition to the fitness centre environment, Sarah has instructed classes for corporate groups, schools, community programs and local sporting teams. She has also cross trained amateur boxers pre-competition.
Sarah’s passion is to assist individuals who do not believe that they can reach their goals and she delivers. Sarah has received in excess of 500 testimonials from members of the general public for assisting them to achieve their goals, including clients who have lost in excess of 90kg coaching and training with her. Sarah’s clients always describe her as funny, caring and intelligent.
